Giorgis is the only son of the richest tseligas of a mountain village. Although he is considered a sought-after groom, he only has eyes for Droso, who reciprocates his feelings. The obstacle to their love is Giorgis' father. He is a cruel usurer who has confiscated the girl's fields. After a fight between father and son, the former falls dead.
